Excursions
A variety of excursions are offered to the students throughout the program. Trips include: Vancouver Island exploration (Chemainus murals, Rathtrevor Park, Qualicum Falls, and Cathedral Grove); Vancouver (Stanley Park, Vancouver Art Gallery, Science World, Grouse Mountain, Gastown, etc.); Saltspring Island; West Coast Whale Watching; downtown Victoria (Royal British Columbia Museum, Butcharts Gardens, Parliament Buildings, and more). The summer program will include two major all-day excursions. To find out which excursions are offered with each program please contact us. Excursions vary from year to year and include:
    • Trip to Vancouver including Science World, Vancouver Art Gallery, Stanley Park, Gastown,
    • Downtown Victoria (Royal British Columbia Museum, Butchart Gardens [including fireworks], Harbour Tours, Underwater Museum, The Wax Museum,...)
    • Up Vancouver Island (Chemainus, Coombs, Rathtrevor Park, Qualicum Falls, and Cathedral Grove)
    • Other local attractions include Saltspring Island (Art Galleries, Local Fairs, Salmon Barbecue,...)
    • Whale watching

In addition to the day trips, students will also go on mini excursions. Possible destinations include:

    • Sooke Potholes
    • East Sooke Park
    • Waterslides (The largest Waterslides on Vancouver Island)
    • Mini Golf: A fun evening. Students can play Mini Golf and have small group competitions.
    • Juan de Fuca Trail (New West Coast Trail)
    • Race Rocks
    • Auctions in downtown Victoria (Students visit a local area auction house, an entertaining way to acquire essential vocabulary)
    • Shakespeare Theatre: Various Shakespearean plays are offered during the summer--"The Taming of the Shrew, A Mid Summer Night's Dream, among others.
